About this role

Location: Chicago (remote) with occasional travel for company and customer meetings

Type: Full-time

You'll be joining an early sales team, working directly with the CEO and an experienced sales Director. As an early sales hire, you will play an essential role in growing net new customers for Handled. Handled is seeking a highly-motivated, self-starting, senior sales professional to help scale our business and hit revenue targets. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with new clients to drive business growth. You will act as the main point of contact for clients, working to understand their needs and goals, and offering services that align with those objectives.

What We’re Looking for

  • Drive New Business: Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities while building relationships with partners and attending industry events.
  • Own the Sales Cycle: Lead deals from prospecting to close, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding quotas.
  • Expert in Consultative Selling: Understand customer pain points with the ability to articulate value propositions and build trust with business owners and IT leaders.
  • Hunter Mentality: Passion for prospecting, networking, and closing deals.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills: Adept at structuring and closing complex sales agreements with key decision makers (i.e., business owners, IT leaders, CFOs)
  • Tech-Savvy & Data-Driven: Familiarity with CRM tools, sales automation, and analytics to drive decisions.
  • Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with marketing, services, and customer success teams to refine go-to-market strategies and ensure customer success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in tech sales, reporting directly to upper management
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts while seeking new opportunities
  • Ability to understand client needs and negotiate costs and services
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to clients and internal teams
  • Proven track record of sales success and meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas
  • Ability to prospect new sales opportunities and build a pipeline of potential clients
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to create and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to clients
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Experience in market research and analysis to inform sales strategies and stay informed on industry trends
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure client satisfaction and retention
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge and expertise in the industry and our products/services.
  • Familiarity with CRM and lead management software, such as Salesforce or Hubspot

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: 50/50 split

  • Base = $70,000 - $100,000
  • OTE = $140,000 - 200,000
