Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Quality Manager to lead and oversee the full lifecycle of our Quality Management System (QMS) within a high-mix, precision component manufacturing environment. This role is instrumental in ensuring compliance with industry-specific standards (such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements), driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining a strong culture of quality across all operational functions.

As a core member of the leadership team , the Quality Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to ensure product integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing quality systems in regulated industries and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards, regulatory bodies (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR), and customer requirements.
  • Manage internal and external quality audits, including regulatory and customer audits; drive corrective actions and closure.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA), failure investigation, and preventive/corrective action processes (CAPA).
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics and reporting systems to support operational goals and management review.
  • Oversee document control, inspection protocols, and calibration programs.
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison for customers, suppliers, and certification bodies.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) processes with quality planning, risk analysis (FMEA), and process validation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop quality team members including inspectors, technicians, and document control staff.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (advanced degree or certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance/quality management within a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace, defense, and/or medical device quality standards (AS9100D, ISO 9001).
  • Proven track record in leading audits, implementing CAPA, and managing quality systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as SPC, FMEA, MSA, and Lean Six Sigma is highly desirable.

Compensation

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, 401K, PTO, and holiday pay.

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $135,000/year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other factors as permitted by law.
