Internship Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week) or Part-Time (20 hours/week) – On-Site / Field-Based

Work Authorization: Open to CPT/OPT candidates

Salary: $18 – $22 per hour

About the Role

Taza Construction LLC is a general contracting firm specializing in commercial interiors, flooring, federal projects, and large-scale renovations. We are seeking a Preconstruction Site Intern to support our team during the pre-bid phase of projects . This role is field-focused , with interns spending significant time on job sites attending walkthroughs, measuring, documenting existing conditions, and preparing data that drives accurate bids.

The ideal candidate has strong construction knowledge , can confidently use measurement tools , and communicates professionally with subcontractors, vendors, and site representatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend pre-bid site visits and walkthroughs , representing the company in a professional manner.
• Use measurement tools (tape measure, laser distance meter, etc.) to verify site dimensions and assist with basic takeoffs.
• Accurately document site conditions, logistics, access, and safety concerns through notes, sketches, and photos .
• Prepare structured site visit reports for the estimating team.
• Assist with preliminary quantity measurements and support estimators with bid documentation.
• Communicate with site representatives, subcontractors, and vendors to gather project information.
• Transfer all collected field data into estimating workflows (Procore, Bluebeam, Excel).
• Contribute to identifying site-specific risks and challenges to inform competitive bids.

Qualifications & Skills

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field .
• Strong foundation in construction methods, materials, and preconstruction workflows .
• Ability to perform basic estimating and measurement tasks using measurement tools.
• Professional communication skills with ability to interact effectively on job sites.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; exposure to Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or RSMeans preferred.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for frequent site travel.
