JW Michaels & Co is engaged with a major technology and ecommerce company looking to add cyber legal talent to their team.

COMPANY OVERVIEW

A leading global technology company with teams focused on legal operations across commercial contracts, cybersecurity, IP, and ethical practices. The legal department develops plans, oversees programs, provides policy information and legal advice across the organization.

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer (who has a remit across privacy, cyber, ai, data governance, trust and safety, etc), you will advise and provide legal support to the Chief Information Security Officer and global cybersecurity organization, as well as the Fraud Investigations team under the VP - Global Security Operations. You'll work on cutting-edge legal issues in partnership with IT, Privacy, Supply Chain Security, Governance Risk & Compliance, and Global Audit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide primary legal counsel to the CISO and cybersecurity organization, including incident response team
• Support fraud investigations and advise on response and remediation activities
• Advise on cybersecurity-related policies, procedures, protocols, and reporting requirements
• Review and provide guidance on cybersecurity practices, including industry controls and certifications
• Create and update cyber-security legal templates, playbooks and incident response runbooks
• Assist with incident response tabletop exercises
• Provide legal training on cybersecurity matters
• Research emerging cybersecurity laws and regulations
• Collaborate with global stakeholders on compliance efforts

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

• JD and admission to practice law in the United States
• 5-7 years relevant experience (law firm, in-house or government) focusing on cybersecurity
• Experience counseling on cybersecurity, IT compliance, insider threat, and risk management
• Knowledge of global cybersecurity and data protection frameworks (NIS2, DORA, NYDFS, PCI-DSS, GDPR, CMMC, NIST)
• Strong investigative and analytical skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
