Job Description

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports clinical care delivery under the supervision of licensed medical professionals. This role involves providing direct patient care, performing administrative duties, and occasionally offering site flexibility to meet the needs of affiliated practices.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies
• Assist physicians during patient examinations
• Record patient vital signs and maintain accurate medical documentation
• Perform diagnostic testing including EKG, PFT, audiometry, Titmus tests, UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and other lab procedures upon evaluation and training
• Maintain patient charts and assist with records management
• Support billing and collections processes when necessary
• Utilize computer systems for office administration
• Uphold patient confidentiality and compliance standards
• Tailor care delivery based on the unique needs of patients (age, culture, ability, etc.)
• Participate in ongoing projects and assignments as needed
• Adhere to organizational standards and professional behaviour expectations
• Physically able to lift 5 lbs., push/pull 10 lbs., and stand for up to 6 hours per day

Required Skills & Experience:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact with diverse patient populations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with computerized data entry and office systems
• 3–5 years of prior experience required
• Cardiology experience preferred

Education Requirements:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Certifications & Licensure:

Required:

• Current AHA BLS certification

One of the following MA certifications:

• CMA (AAMA)
• RMA (AMT or NAHP)
• NCMA
• CMA (NHA or NCCT)
• AMCA
