Role Overview

As a Tableau Solutions Architect, you will be part of a dynamic environment within our delivery function helping clients solve complex business problems with data and delivering on Tableau dashboards, data product templates, and ad-hoc training & support. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, developing insights through Tableau and data visualization best practices, learning how data delivers actionable value within our clients' organizations, and managing multiple client-facing Tableau Cloud environments.

The primary responsibility will be supporting our analytics managed service clients through their data-driven journey and delivering measurable business value through Tableau dashboard development, ad-hoc data requests, Tableau training support, and ongoing administration and technical documentation. The Tableau Solutions Architect will bridge the gap between business reporting needs of our clients and our internally-managed cloud analytics platform.

What You'll Be Doing as a Tableau Solutions Architect

  • Perform (ad-hoc) data analysis tasks such as building visualizations, identifying trends, and making recommendations to customers based on findings using Tableau and SQL
  • Develop (or improve existing) client-facing Tableau dashboards and templates for DataDrive's data product offerings
  • Communicate with internal and external audiences - presenting through strong written and verbal communication that resonates with audiences
  • Support requirements gathering and note-taking during client interactions - including new data insights requests and ongoing client project check-ins
  • Support interactive Tableau training programs focused on reporting tool proficiency, data visualization best practices, and end-user data training and enablement
  • Troubleshoot and support resolution of client support tickets & data issues related to dashboard functionality and data accuracy
  • Maintain multiple Tableau Cloud environments focused on best practices in user permissioning, data security, and content organization

The Tableau Solutions Architect role is a full-time, salaried (exempt) role with both autonomy and support from our technical team and company leadership. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.

What We Look For

  • 3+ years experience as a Tableau developer (e.g. gathering requirements, developing reports/dashboards, wrangling data, developing actionable recommendations to business leaders)
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience working in data analytics; consulting experience is a huge plus
  • Expert with data visualization best practices and Tableau Desktop
    • Including the ability to communicate data structure or data modeling needs to support visualizations and analysis requests
  • Familiarity with Tableau Cloud and administration best practices; willingness to learn/deliver Tableau Next capabilities
  • Experience delivering Tableau training to both new and experienced users
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering with external audiences
  • Ability to self-manage to requirements, anticipate needs, and perform necessary quality assurance steps to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity & managing multiple assignments
  • Strong ability to communicate complex ideas effectively (verbal and written) with people at all levels of the organization, including senior management
  • Additional ‘nice-to-have' knowledge and experience includes
    • Active portfolio on Tableau Public
    • Office productivity tools (e.g. Google Workspace)
    • Project management tools (e.g. Monday.com)
    • Tableau certification(s), such as Tableau Specialist/Data Analyst
    • SQL querying through Snowflake or experience with dbt
    • Master's degree in data analytics-related field

Anticipated Schedule & Workplace Expectations

DataDrive is a remote-first company that embraces a flexible, virtual workplace. We expect employees to be generally available for meetings, collaboration, client communication, and support Monday - Friday during normal business hours (9a - 4p CST). This role may require balancing multiple clients and jumping between projects—strong context switching and communication are essential.

To maintain connection in a virtual world with our team and clients, employees are expected to

  • Maintain regular access to high-speed Internet connections
  • Turn on video/webcam for the majority of meetings
  • Dress appropriately for the day (e.g. business casual for external audiences)
