A Solar Installation Technician is a skilled technician who plays a crucial role in the transition to renewable energy. You will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar panel systems on residential and commercial properties. A successful Solar Installer is a team player with strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities for the Solar Installation Technician:

  • Expertly install solar panels, inverters, and associated components for both rooftop and ground-mounted systems.
  • Conduct thorough site assessments to optimize system placement and performance.
  • Meticulously follow blueprints and plans for precise and efficient installations.
  • Rigorously test electrical components and connections to guarantee functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve solar installation issues with a problem-solving approach.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with project managers and customers.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in top condition for optimal performance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support throughout the installation process.
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code, and state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate digital records and photo documentation of completed work.
  • Prioritize safety by strictly adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements for the Solar Installation Technician:

  • 3+ years experience as a Solar Installer!
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in solar or electrical systems are a plus.
  • Proven experience installing solar systems.
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications are a bonus.
  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
  • Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with desktop applications and technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
