Internship Overview:

We’re looking for a creative and driven Social Media Marketing Intern to join our marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about growing food and digital marketing. You’ll help grow our online presence, engage with an audience of greenhouse growers, architects, and sustainability enthusiasts, and support our mission through storytelling, content creation, and analytics. This position requires an availability of 10-15 hours per week for the duration of the internship. The weekly schedule is flexible to accommodate class and work schedules.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and scheduling content for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.
• Write compelling captions, blogs, and post copy aligned with our brand voice.
• Create and edit short-form video content and graphics using Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
• Monitor social media platforms for trends, conversations, and audience engagement.
• Research competitors and industry trends to inform content strategy.
• Contribute to monthly editorial calendar planning sessions.
• Assist in repurposing on-air content (e.g., promos, news segments) into engaging social media posts, short-form videos, and graphics.
• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to build community engagement.
• Analytics Tracking: Assist in tracking and analyzing social media performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
• Monitor and engage with posts from partner organizations to create a strong network.
• Increase followers and follow other important or relevant accounts.
• Reshare stories or news on account when appropriate.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
• Creative and Tech-Savvy: Familiar with social media platforms and scheduling tools.
• A Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-Oriented: Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Passionate About Media: Interested in journalism, broadcasting, or digital marketing.
• A Team Player: Willing to collaborate and contribute ideas.
• Self-Motivated: Eager to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Premiere, etc.).
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
• Passion for sustainability, agriculture, or green tech is a plus.
• Artistic & graphic design skills.
