Job Description

💡 Are you a banking or finance professional who loves working directly with business owners?

Are you passionate about helping small and minority-owned businesses access the resources they need to grow? Do you have a background in finance, business development, and relationship management — and thrive in a role where your impact is measurable? If so, this opportunity could be a perfect fit!

We’re seeking a Business Growth Manager to join a mission-driven organization supporting disadvantaged and small businesses across various parts of New England. This is a newly created role , offering the chance to shape programs that expand access to credit, capital, and growth opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner directly with business owners to assess credit readiness , identify financial gaps, and connect them with the right funding sources (loans, equity, and non-bank capital).
  • Provide strategic guidance on growth opportunities, relationship management, and deal sourcing.
  • Act as the “first point of contact” for clients — diagnosing needs, offering technical assistance, and coordinating with subject matter experts.
  • Lead initiatives under multiple state and regional grants, ensuring goals are met on time and within scope.
  • Promote available resources by collaborating with marketing and outreach teams.
  • Track progress and contribute to grant reporting requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in strategic advisory, business development, finance, or banking.
  • Strong understanding of small business lending/credit and the ability to evaluate financial readiness (without doing the financials yourself).
  • Excellent relationship management skills — able to engage with small business owners and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven project management skills : proactive, organized, and committed to follow-through.
  • Comfortable working in a grant-funded, metrics-driven environment with autonomy and accountability.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel especially) .
  • Degree preferred, but strong experience will be considered.

Why This Role Matters

This is more than an advisory position — it’s a chance to make a direct impact on small and minority-owned businesses by helping them access capital and thrive. You’ll work closely with leadership, enjoy flexibility in a hybrid/remote environment , and be part of an initiative that truly changes lives and communities.

👉 Ready to put your finance and advisory skills to work for real community impact? Apply today and help shape the future of small business growth in New England.
