Job Description

Position Summary:

The Robotic Technician provides daily support, set-up and maintenance of the company's robotic systems. Provides weld technology support to a lean manufacturing environment while continuously striving for greater equipment and operator efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Capable of diagnosing weld issues and modifying and setting up equipment
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment consisting of weld controllers, robotic components and programmable logic controllers
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair and modify weld fixtures as needed
• Set-up weld tooling on automated equipment
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on robots and automated welding machines in a timely manner
• Responsible for making required modifications to robotic equipment to meet quality standards
• Programming and troubleshooting of controllers to ensure quality standards are met
• Makes appropriate modifications to equipment to ensure high level of running efficiency
• Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area
• Responsible for training machine operators on the proper use of the equipment
• Troubleshoots programming and production related issues
• Verifies conformance of finished product to specifications
• Reviews prints, instructions and sample parts pertaining to tolerances
• Provides technical guidance and experience
• Develops standard work instructions
• Ability to contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with robot programming practices, OTC a plus
• Experience with quick change overs a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal
• Demonstrated dependability
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrated adherence to all safety regulations

Education:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years robotic programming/operating experience required

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
