Position Summary

The Robotic Weld Operator is responsible for the daily operation of robotic welding systems to produce quality metal components according to specifications. This role focuses on equipment setup for production runs, loading and unloading parts, monitoring weld quality, and performing basic adjustments to maintain production efficiency in a lean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Set-Up & Operation – Prepare robotic weld stations for production; load and unload workpieces manually or with hoists; ensure fixtures and tooling are properly aligned.
• Weld Monitoring & Adjustment – Start and operate robotic welders; monitor welding parameters and make basic adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Quality Control – Perform in-process and final visual inspections; verify parts meet specifications using measuring tools; follow work instructions and welding symbols.
• Routine Maintenance – Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and part changes to keep equipment running smoothly; report any issues to maintenance or supervision.
• Safety & Compliance – Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements; maintain clean and hazard-free work areas.
• Collaboration – Communicate with team members, leads, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and address production concerns.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience operating robotic welding equipment
• Basic understanding of MIG welding processes and quality requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with basic measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, gauges).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MIG welding experience a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Frequent use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls is required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
