Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Part-Time Production Coffee Roaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong appreciation for coffee, a keen sense of quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. As a Production Coffee Roaster, you will play a crucial role in our roasting operations, ensuring that each batch of coffee meets our high standards of quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain coffee roasting equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards.
- Roast coffee beans to achieve desired flavor profiles, following established guidelines and recipes.
- Monitor roasting parameters such as temperature, time, and airflow to ensure optimal results.
- Conduct regular cupping sessions to evaluate roast quality and adjust profiles as needed.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet daily roasting schedules and fulfill orders in a timely manner.
- Assist in inventory management, including green bean storage and tracking roasted coffee.
- Keep a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to deepen knowledge of coffee and roasting techniques.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a coffee roaster or in a related role is preferred, but not required. Willingness to learn is essential.
- Strong understanding of coffee flavors, roasting profiles, and brewing methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work hours that include evenings and weekends, based on production needs.
- Passion for coffee and eagerness to share knowledge with others.
