Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Political Data Analyst to measure the impact of our efforts through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, voter behavior, and electoral trends to help refine and improve our voter outreach strategies. This role requires proficiency in handling large datasets, creating predictive models, and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.

  • Collect, clean, and analyze voter registration and turnout data to assess the impact of the organization’s efforts.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s voter-facing online applications and messaging in driving voter engagement and participation.
  • Develop data-driven insights on voter outreach, turnout trends, and key demographic shifts.
  • Use statistical and machine learning techniques to build predictive models for voter registration and turnout.
  • Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with communications, product, and program teams to optimize voter engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess polling data, election results, and public opinion trends. Identify opportunities for data automation and process improvement. Ensure data integrity and compliance with relevant privacy laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with voter data sources (e.g., state voter files, VAN, Catalist, L2, TargetSmart).
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, including SQL, Python, R, and Excel.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or GIS mapping.
  • Ability to interpret and present data in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of voter registration processes, turnout trends, and civic engagement efforts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
