DESCRIPTION
- This program is open to external candidates only; Amazon employees are not eligible to apply. The role appears on Amazon’s internal portal solely for employee referral purposes.
- The position is open to students who are currently enrolled in an MBA or equivalent master's level program at the time of application with a conferral date between December 2025 and June 2026, or have graduated from an MBA program within the past 24 months.
- Applications for this role are considered for Pathways locations in the United States only; successful candidates would be matched to a site before receiving an offer.
- Candidates who apply to multiple MBA roles should note they can only be selected to interview for one role.
TIMELINE:
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until positions are filled. Interviews will start in October 2025.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Pathways is a three-year Operations Leadership Development Program for MBA and Masters-level graduates, aimed at cultivating Amazon’s future senior management. Participants gain high visibility with senior leadership and experience diverse roles, sites, and geographies to foster global leadership skills. The program offers a series of challenging opportunities within our world-class operations network, designed to maximize your leadership potential. You’ll gain invaluable business insights and credibility, setting a strong foundation for future executive roles and long-term career success.
Key job responsibilities
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Pathways graduates may lead organizations of nearly 4,000 individuals, have financial responsibilities for labor more than $2.5 million per week, and have oversight of over $1B+ in capital projects. The following is a brief overview of this fast track to executive leadership.
- Step 1: Start in the Area Manager Experience, learning Amazon operations on the front-line leading people and systems. Kick off your career by managing and directing 50 to 100 associates in one of our world-class fulfillment/sortation/delivery centers.
- Step 2: Progress into the Operations Manager role and gain experience leading other managers and teams of 300-500 members. Drive improvements in Operational processes and the end-to-end supply chain by working cross-functionally with technology and engineering teams across Amazon.
- Step 3: Graduate from the Pathways Operations Leadership Development Program as a Senior Operations Manager and emerge as a leader known for operational excellence. In this senior manager position, you will lead through others to execute on regional or network initiatives. Apply your expert subject matter expertise to lead a new business, project, team or an entire site in a specific region.
A day in the life
KEY RESPONISBILITIES:
- Coach, manage, and develop large teams.
- Partner with senior leadership to think broadly about solutions to the most complex business and operational challenges.
- Engage and lead continuous improvement projects throughout the course of the program.
EXPECTED HOURS & ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is demanding; hours may fluctuate with seasons and changing environments.
- Expect to work weekends, holidays, and/or overnight shifts with anticipated overtime.
- The position will be located in a fulfillment center, sort center, delivery station, or other warehouse environments.

LOCATIONS & PLACEMENT:
- Must be willing to relocate at time of hire; position location is most heavily weighted on business need but will also consider individual location preference.
COMPENSATION:
- Total compensation for Pathways Operations includes three elements: Base pay, (2) 1, 2-year sign-on payment, (3) Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
