Job Description
We are looking for a Finance Intern to join our team! This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Operations Controller, as well as with various teams in accounting and finance. You will gain valuable exposure to how finance plays a key role in the success of a corporation. As a Finance Intern, you'll be involved in a variety of tasks that will provide insight into the workings of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oracle Pricing Administration:
Manage pricing lists by adding and removing items.
Analyze product margins as needed.
Collaborate with Sales Operations, Product Management, and IT teams on new price list creations and automation.
Analyze and submit commercial sales promotion requests and price deviations for approval, creating price modifiers in Oracle once approved.
Support other price list maintenance tasks as needed.
Royalty & Donation Agreement Tracking & Payment Processing:
Summarize product sales related to royalty and donation agreements.
Prepare payment requests and secure necessary approvals for payments.
Financial Analysis:
Assist with various capital spending analysis and tracking.
Provide support with treasury-related analysis and general accounting tasks, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Ad-Hoc Data Gathering & Analysis:
Assist with data collection and analysis as requested by team members in Finance.
Help assemble journal entries for related responsibilities.
Financial Planning & Analysis Support:
Assist with monthly reporting packages, including rolling forward schedules and consolidating financial performance reports for leadership.
Support the preparation of monthly sales projections.
Operations Finance Support:
Compile invoice details for capital debt financing agreements.
Assist with capital asset reconciliations.
Consolidate work order data used by senior finance staff.
Accounts Receivable Support:
Work with the accounts receivable team to help release credit holds for pending shipments.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (minimum 2 years of coursework completed).
Strong academic performance (GPA > 3.25).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Previous experience in a professional finance setting is a plus, but not required.
Familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle is a bonus.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A curious mindset and a willingness to learn.
Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform basic office tasks like opening file cabinets.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
Must comply with all health, safety, and security requirements.
