Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Electrician and Mechanical Technician with a strong problem-solving mindset to join our team. This role will focus on reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency by working on both electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance, regular system checks, and handle complex repairs across a variety of machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and guidelines, including the proper use of machine safety and personal protection equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Install and repair pneumatic systems to meet operational specifications.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using established methods to quickly identify and resolve problems.
• Install electrical components and hardware using the appropriate tools and equipment.
• Fabricate parts, housings, jigs, and fixtures by operating metalworking machinery.
• Use hand and power tools effectively to complete tasks.
• Perform daily inspections to diagnose equipment issues and take corrective actions.
• Train new employees in electrical and mechanical processes and best practices.
• Be available to respond to breakdowns after normal working hours, with a proactive repair mindset to minimize future issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment through consistent housekeeping practices.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team-based Gemba activities.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Proven experience as both an Electrician and Mechanical Technician.
• High level of accuracy, with a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues effectively.
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
• Basic knowledge of PC operations for timekeeping and task management.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Flexible and adaptable to shifting demands and frequent changes in the work environment.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (8-10 hours) during shifts.
• Capability to lift at least 50 lbs as required by the job.
• High school diploma or equivalent. A two-year trade school degree is beneficial.
