**Please note that this role sits in our Hickory office two days a week. We are only considering candidates who are within comfortable driving distance of Hickory, NC initially. **

Your Job:

The HR Assistant role has a dynamic blend of administrative tasks, people-focused support, and behind-the-scenes coordination. The day could consist of replying to employee and candidate inquiries as well as updating employee records and scheduling interviews. This role will also assist in coordinating onboarding needs for a new employee and ensuring that a new employee has been set up for success. The HR assistant plays a key role in maintaining a positive workplace culture while ensuring the operational side of HR runs smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with posting job openings and screening candidates
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate hiring logistics
  • Prepare and process new hire paperwork; facilitate employee onboarding.

Benefits Administration

  • Support enrollment and changes in employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve issues or answer questions.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment and benefits communication.

HRIS & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate employee data in the HR information system (HRIS).
  • Manage personnel files, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Track employee attendance, PTO, and leave records.

Employee Relations & Support

  • Respond to employee questions related to policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Support initiatives that promote positive employee engagement and workplace culture.
  • Help facilitate employee programs and events.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Assist with compliance activities, including labor law postings, I-9 verifications, and EEO reporting.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics related to turnover, headcount, and benefits participation.
  • Stay informed about changes in labor and employment laws affecting retail and warehouse staff.

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department.
  • Manage supplies, correspondence, and filing related to HR activities.
  • Assist with scheduling, calendaring, and meeting coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication. Excellent written English is a requirement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company. Works well independently, as well as within a team.
  • Ability to execute a wide variety of tasks and work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and excellent written English.
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks.
  • A passion for the running enthusiast and active lifestyle a plus.

Company Paid holidays and PTO:

  • Feetures offers 20 PTO days which are available to you on day one of employment and are available to all employees, no matter your role. After working at Feetures for 5 years, your PTO days will increase to 25 days. These days can be used for vacations, appointments and sick days.
  • Additionally, we offer 1 floating holiday to be used at your discretion
  • We offer 10 company paid holidays a year
