Company Overview
Our client is a reputable and well-established precast concrete plant located in Northern California, United States, known for its commitment to quality, reliability, and operational excellence. With a strong focus on innovation and safety, they are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to support and enhance their workplace safety culture.
About the Role
Are you a safety professional who thrives in the field—not behind a desk?
Do you take pride in building trust with crews and creating a culture where safety is second nature?
If you're ready for an on-the-ground role with real impact, this opportunity might be for you.
This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving safety and environmental programs within our precast concrete manufacturing facility.
We’re looking for someone who not only understands safety programs and compliance but thrives in a hands-on role— someone who’s comfortable walking the plant, engaging directly with crews, and building solid relationships with the people doing the work. Strong communication, credibility, and a proactive presence in the field are key to success here.
The HSE Officer will work closely with plant leadership and field personnel to ensure daily compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards while driving a safety culture that values trust, visibility, and operational awareness.
Responsibilities
• Conduct daily safety walk-throughs, jobsite audits, and inspections
• Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Develop and implement safety policies and environmental compliance programs
• Lead employee safety training and emergency preparedness activities
• Investigate incidents, maintain safety records, and implement corrective actions
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related communications with plant personnel
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., waste management, emissions, stormwater)
• Coordinate with supervisors to ensure safety is integrated into daily operations
• Promote a culture of safety through visibility, consistency, and strong interpersonal relationships
Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years combined experience in construction and/or safety roles
• OSHA 30-hour certification required; CHST or CSP is a plus
• Demonstrated experience in hands-on safety leadership in an industrial or plant
environment
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
What We Offer
• Be a trusted leader — not just an enforcer — in a respected precast operation
• Step into a visible, hands-on safety leadership role with support from senior leadership
• Join a stable, growing company that invests in its people and values long-term careers
• Competitive salary and full benefits package
• A high-impact role with autonomy and visibility
