Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in West Des Moines, Iowa is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Works in conjunction with the South Course Superintendent to aid the Director of Grounds in the leadership and execution of work schedules and maintenance programs of 36 golf holes, two practice facilities, and clubhouse grounds. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a deep understanding of turfgrass management, and the ability to motivate and inspire a large team to achieve excellence. This position is given the flexibility and empowerment to make their own decisions and implement chemical and cultural practices they see fit.
Requirements:
2 Year Associates degree is preferred.
Proven experience as an assistant superintendent or golf course superintendent with aspirations to advance their career.
In-depth knowledge of turfgrass management and golf course maintenance practices.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to develop and implement maintenance programs.
Experience managing a large team of workers.
Ability to communicate with Hispanic-speaking team members preferred.
Familiarity with irrigation systems, equipment maintenance, and pest control methods.
Passion for the game of golf and dedication to maintaining high course standards.
Ability to obtain Iowa pesticide applicator license within 60 days.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Driver’s license.
Compensation:
$70,000 – $80,000 per year.
