Working Conditions

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid telework option, in accordance with CAL FIRE’s telework policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
  • This position may be required to travel up to 5% of the time and may include overnight stays. 5% Emergency Duty Assignments as required.

If it is determined a candidate does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

Statement of Qualifications:

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is a narrative description of how an applicant’s  education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities meet the qualifications for this  position. Applications without the SOQ will not be considered for the position. When  completing the SOQ, applicants must follow these guidelines:


The SOQ must be limited to two (2), typed, single spaced pages using no smaller than 12-point, Calibri font size.

1. Describe your experience organizing, leading, or facilitating a project or  assignment. Explain the project or assignment, your role, and the steps you  took to achieve a positive outcome.

2. Describe your knowledge and experience with, collaborating with staff,  management team, other government agencies, and departments to facilitate  program development and implementation.

3. Describe the training and work experience that has prepared you to perform  the day-to-day responsibilities of this position. Provide specific examples of your  experience in managing these types of activities and practices that you have  used and would continue to employ to be successful.
