Position Overview:
The Esko Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining Esko software and hardware systems to ensure the smooth workflow of prepress processes. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the Esko suite, including ArtPro, Automation Engine, and other related software. The technician will troubleshoot technical issues, support prepress staff, and contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of packaging design, proofing, and output.
Essential Job Functions:
• Operate Esko software including ArtPro, Automation Engine, DeskPack, and Imaging Engine for prepress workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Esko software and hardware.
• Maintain the integrity of prepress files and ensure accurate and efficient file output.
• Collaborate with the design, print, and production teams to ensure artwork meets production specifications.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of Esko hardware (such as CDI plate imager).
• Implement workflow automation processes to improve prepress efficiency.
• Train team members on best practices for using Esko software and other related technologies.
• Stay updated on the latest Esko technologies and implement new tools or features as needed.
• Support the integration of Esko systems with other print and packaging technologies.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with Esko software, particularly Automation Engine, ArtPro, and Imaging Engine.
• Strong understanding of prepress processes, packaging, and print production.
• Familiarity with color management, file formats (PDF, AI, etc.), and proofing techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
