Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatcher to join our crane and rigging team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient dispatch of crane crews, operators, and equipment to various job sites. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be familiar with logistics or construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily schedules and dispatch cranes, operators, and rigging crews based on job requirements, equipment availability, and operator qualifications.
  • Assign equipment and personnel for all jobs; update the daily schedule in NexGen.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and field personnel to confirm schedules and address any last-minute changes or delays.
  • Ensure proper paperwork and e-tickets are processed before, during, and after jobs are performed.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatched jobs, including time logs, operator assignments, and equipment usage.
  • Communicate all needs, concerns, and scheduling conflicts with sales personnel and the branch manager.
  • Communicate with employees and sales personnel throughout the day and make necessary adjustments to the schedule.
  • Track crane maintenance schedules and ensure availability of properly maintained and certified equipment.
  • Approve e-tickets for billing and payroll processing.
  • Communicate operational needs with the Service Manager and Yard Foreman.
  • Schedule outside trucking services when necessary.
  • Ensure all dispatched jobs comply with safety regulations, company policies, and DOT requirements.
  • Respond to emergency or short-notice job requests with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Utilize dispatching software and other tools to manage logistics and fleet tracking.
  • Support billing and administrative staff with accurate job information and documentation.
  • Any additional tasks as requested of the Branch Manager

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in dispatching and logistics management, preferably in the crane, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move parts and equipment, sometimes up to50 lbs.
