Summary:

The ProInstall Project Manager (Construction Manager) is a member of the Technical Service Department working under the direction of the Technical Services Manager. The main responsibilities include planning, organization, and development of installation labor and logistics included for Voith rebuild and component installation projects at our customer’s mill sites, specifically for paper machine and stock preparation equipment. A ProInstall project is similar to a Turnkey or EPC type project. It includes Voith equipment supply, all required plant engineering and construction services as well as materials required to complete a project, ready for operation.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and develop proposals for ProInstall projects: installation planning, cost estimating, development of scope documents and specifications, scheduling and manpower estimating, along with providing a safe work environment in the field.
• Selection of partners such as Engineering Companies and Contractors for project specific disciplines.
• Collaboration with customers, engineering companies and contractors as well as various Voith departments involved in the projects.
• Installation of major paper machinery equipment such as new machines, machine rebuilds and machinery upgrades as well as equipment repair projects.
• Provide construction management at customer sites for assigned projects, including all site logistics and construction crew management.
• Participate in customer meetings and conduct follow up visits to complete any punch list items and complete the project for final acceptance by the customer.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Conduct or participate in meetings with managers, co-workers, and /or customers.
• Take responsibility for documentation of all appropriate communication, customer and employee interaction and correspondence.
• Able to travel within the United States up to 30% of the time
• Perform other duties as assigned such as in-house technical assistance for customers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• High school degree and/or related experience, associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience with paper machinery installation preferred.
• Strong Leadership skills with the ability to manage the entire construction and engineering team. Lead the project site for the Voith team.
• Excellent customer relationship skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
• Good troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
• Good reporting skills.
• Strong mechanical and process aptitude with the ability to read mechanical drawings and bills of materials is required.
• Strong electrical and controls aptitude with the ability to read, understand, and estimate installation of electrical and controls systems in industrial facilities.
• Strong technical drawing and P&ID interpretation.
• Remote support by video and phone tools.
• Proficient in Windows based programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Outlook.
• Basic SAP Skills to review drawings and part information.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
• Must wear gloves and ear protection.
