Job Description

We are looking for a detail oriented, dynamic  Production Assistant to support our Hard Cheese Make team in crafting the highest quality of cheeses. This position will work Monday through Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm with some overtime as necessary, includes competitive pay starting at $19.48/hour, full benefits, and monthly bonus opportunities!

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm

Overall Responsibilities: To assist in the hard cheese make and packaging process performing all necessary duties to produce the highest quality of cheeses possible.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Cheese Make Supervisor and production team to complete all tasks within the production areas.
  • Assists in operating equipment in the hard cheese make and packaging process, successfully making a safe, quality product.
  • Production: Assisting with all production runs and documenting all steps in make procedure to ensure accurate, consistent, safe, and quality products every time
  • Performs product tests, records results, and makes necessary adjustments according to recipe specifications.
  • Monitors, prepares, and changes equipment in the cheese make and packaging process.
  • Remains aware of work environment sounds to detect abnormalities in equipment operation.
  • Sanitation: Keep a clean work environment. Wash, rinse, sanitize and return all equipment back to its designated area immediately after done using. Complete time of use, daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly sanitation scheduled responsibilities along with documentation once work is complete.
  • Follows all policies and procedures LaClare Creamery has implemented regarding food and personal safety to assist in maintaining a safe work environment and safe, quality products at all times.

  • Lift - be able to lift 50+lbs continuously, stand for 8 hours/day and occasionally twist, bend, climb, grasp, and other repetitive movements.
  • Flexible to various creamery environments including unloading, making, painting, packaging, aging, and shipping.

  • Annually complete all trainings within LaClare Creamery Training Matrix
  • Annually complete Appendix N certification
  • Annually complete HACCP training
