Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in media broadcast environments, specifically within newsrooms or local television stations, to join our client's IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience gathering requirements, documenting workflows, and collaborating with both technical teams and newsroom stakeholders to drive solutions that improve operational efficiency and support broadcast workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with newsroom staff, IT teams, and business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate technical and business requirements.
• Analyze current newsroom systems, workflows, and tools to identify areas for optimization and standardization.
• Work with cross-functional teams to design solutions that align with the technical and editorial needs of broadcast operations.
• Support the implementation of new tools, systems, and processes for news production, newsroom workflows, and content delivery.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams and newsroom staff to ensure mutual understanding of requirements and constraints.
• Create functional specifications, user stories, workflow diagrams, and business process documentation.
• Participate in system testing, UAT, and rollout planning.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and process improvement recommendations post-implementation.
• Stay informed on industry trends, newsroom technology, and emerging media workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within media, broadcasting, or newsroom environments.
• Strong understanding of newsroom operations, broadcast workflows, and the unique challenges faced by local TV stations.
• Experience working with IT teams to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Proficiency in documenting business processes, system requirements, and functional specifications.
• Familiarity with broadcast and newsroom systems (iNews, ENPS, Dalet, Vizrt, Octopus, or similar) is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project environments.
• Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management tools.

Preferred

• Background in local TV station technology or newsroom IT systems.
• Understanding of media asset management systems and live broadcast infrastructure.
• Prior experience supporting system integrations and large-scale technology rollouts within broadcast media environments.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $50-60/per hour, depending on experience.


Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
