Seeking Elite Legal Writer for High-Stakes Personal Injury Litigation Law Firm

The Role: Senior Legal Writer & Strategist

We’re seeking an exceptional legal writer to elevate our already formidable litigation team. This role demands a rare combination of analytical prowess, creative legal thinking, and the ability to craft compelling narratives that persuade judges

Key Responsibilities:

Craft superior legal documents, including but not limited to:

1. Discovery motions:

• Motions to compel, oppositions, and replies
• Protective orders, oppositions, and replies
• Motions for sanctions, oppositions, and replies

2. Summary judgment:

• Oppositions to motions for summary judgment/adjudication
• MSJ/MSA and replies in support of plaintiff's MSJ/MSA

3. Evidentiary motions:

• Motions in limine, oppositions, and replies
• Daubert/Kelly challenges and responses

4. Trial documents:

• Trial briefs
• Proposed jury instructions and verdict forms
• Motions for directed verdict, oppositions, and replies

5. Post-trial motions:

• Motions for new trial, oppositions, and replies
• Motions for judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV), oppositions, and replies

6. Appellate work:

• Writs
• Appeal briefs

7. Settlement documents:

• Mediation briefs
• Mandatory settlement statements

Additional responsibilities include:

• Developing innovative legal theories to overcome challenging precedents
• Crafting persuasive arguments for complex medical causation and damages issues
• Contributing to the firm's overall legal strategy on landmark cases

Qualifications:

• Law review experience preferred
• 5+ years of experience in high-stakes civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury or complex torts
• Demonstrated track record of successful motions and appeals in state and federal courts
• Exceptional research skills and a deep understanding of California and federal civil procedure
• Ability to synthesize complex medical and scientific information into clear, persuasive legal arguments

Required Skills:

• Masterful command of legal writing, including the ability to craft compelling narratives and concise, powerful arguments
• Advanced knowledge of legal research tools and databases
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with attorneys, experts, and clients
