Job Summary
The Immigration Attorney will join our Legal Department and work in a collaborative environment under a Managing Attorney and Supervising Attorney. This position is well suited for an Immigration Attorney who is passionate about changing lives, results-driven, and has strong interpersonal abilities to connect with our clients. Immigration attorneys at McBean Law work on complex family, humanitarian, removal, consular, and naturalization cases at our White Plains Office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare memorandums and briefs to support complex cases before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) • Conduct case assessments to determine legal strategies
• Coordinate case management with paralegals and legal assistants
• Conduct client consultations in office and virtually
• Attend USCIS interviews and court hearings The attorney will work on the following types of cases:
• Complex Family Petitions
• VAWA
• U Visa
• Asylum
• Removal of Conditions
• Waivers (I-601, I-601A and I-212)
• Motion to Reopen/Appeal
• Requests for Evidence
• Naturalization/Citizenship
• Removal Defense
• Consular Processing
Qualifications:
• Bar license (NY license preferred)
• Minimum 2-3 years as an immigration attorney
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills
• Zealous advocate, client-centered and good leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal abilities to connect with our clients
