Job Overview:

As an Arborist Tree Climber, you’ll be the heart of our tree care crew, taking on ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties to ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and with top-notch quality. Working closely with the Tree Department Head and Operations Manager, you’ll help bring our client's landscapes to life while demonstrating your expertise and commitment to safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning & Coordination: Collaborate with the Production Manager or Sales team to schedule and plan tree care projects. Prioritize safety by assessing job sites for hazards and developing safe, effective work plans. Make sure the right equipment and crew are in place to get the job done on time and within scope.
  • Tree Climbing & Pruning: Use your climbing skills to safely access and care for trees, whether pruning, shaping, or removing. Show off your expertise in rigging and aerial rescue as you work with trees of all sizes and species, ensuring your work meets the highest standards in arboriculture and adheres to safety guidelines.
  • Safety First: Always prioritize safety! Lead by example in following safety protocols and conducting pre-job briefings. Inspect job sites for potential risks, then mitigate them with proactive safety measures. Your commitment to creating a safe work environment will inspire your team and ensure everyone goes home safe.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Keep your gear in top condition! You’ll be responsible for maintaining climbing ropes, harnesses, and all crew equipment to prevent breakdowns. Regularly inspect the truck and chipper and report any issues to the manager, ensuring everything is running smoothly and safely.
  • Customer Relations: Provide friendly and professional customer service by addressing client questions and concerns. Keep communication open, explain work procedures, and exceed customer expectations with high-quality work and excellent service.
  • Quality Assurance: After each job, take the time to review the work, ensuring pruning and removal tasks meet customer specifications and industry standards. Perform necessary adjustments and confirm the site is spotless before considering the job completed.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Stay organized by documenting job details, hours worked, equipment used, and any incidents. Ensure all paperwork meets company and regulatory requirements, keeping records accurate and up-to-date.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong tree climbing and pruning expertise, with a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and proper care techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry safety protocols and standards, including safety.

  • Strong communication skills to engage with clients and work efficiently with the team.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to assess job sites and ensure all work is completed to specification.
  • Previous experience in arboriculture, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.
