Ranger Inspection™ provides non-destructive testing on aboveground storage tanks, pressure vessels, and piping, including API Standard 510, 570, 653 inspections, automated ultrasonic testing, 3D & drone inspections, and tank calibration services. The API 653 Inspector, under direction of the General Manager, has the primary job function to lead and facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of API 510/570/653 related services of above ground storage tanks and pressure vessels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure that safety procedures are being followed and equipment is in proper working order
  • Perform all inspections in accordance with API 653 and other related standards.
  • Document all inspection activities in accordance with company and customer guidelines.
  • Recommend repairs and perform inspection of completed repair work, as appropriate.
  • Manage accurate and professional communications with both customers and the office.
  • Manage and direct the field crew to efficiently complete each project.
  • Must be able to make quick decisions on the job to ensure successful completions of projects.
  • Complete all required training within company guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • 5 years field inspection experience.
  • Must be APl-653 Certified.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors and customers.
  • Must be willing to travel {approximately 75% travel), with little notice including travel overnight and by air.
  • Excellent communications skills both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to pass background and drug testing, including ongoing random testing.
  • Must have valid driver's license, have or ability to obtain passport, TWIC card
  • Must be comfortable with heights and tight spaces.
  • Must have knowledge to perform tank strappings
  • Must have knowledge or certified to perform MT, VT, MFL, PT and other NDE methods as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May include occasional exposure to shop environment involving lifting of material and/or products up to 50 pounds
  • Work frequently involves working from a kneeling/all-fours position
  • Work involves working in Confined Spaces
  • Work is conducted in an outdoor setting and in all weather
  • Must have adequate vision/corrective eyewear and be able to distinguish colors
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders frequently and repetitively
  • Must be available by phone during nonstandard working hours
  • Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Fit Test, if required
  • Includes heavy travel schedule, estimated at 75%
